So, yesterday I had this wonderful idea to compile a list of all the #1 pop hits of August 12th for every year beginning on the year of my birth, 1981, and ending this year. Here is the list:

Monday Musings: New things happening...

I finally have a moment to write to you all once again! I have missed blogging and was craving the right moment to do so. I have much news to share with you all! First, I just had my 29th birthday last week on August 12th which was really fun! I am really excited about this last year of my second decade on earth, beginning the third decade seems like a really exciting time for me! I really enjoyed the day! It was very fun and full of love! Beyond having a new year added onto my life I also got a new look! The day before my birthday I was treated to a day at the beauty salon by my friend Mireya. Here are the results:

So, the other news is that in a week and a half I will be boarding a plane once again headed to Spokane, WA this time. Lord, it only took me about a half a year to get there which had been my original plan but I am glad it is finally coming to fruition and that I got to spend time here in Venezuela. Anyway, thought I would share with you just a bit of what's been going on in my life these days. Tomorrow I will write again!

Things to do....

How I wish I could be crafting all the day long but I've not had the chance to do that at all! I've been mostly helping do things around the house, photo editing, updating flickr, and trying to keep from getting bitten by the tons of mosquitos that keep attacking me all day and night long! They seem to get feisty when it is hot here and then they get worse after it has rained and is still hot out (I guess it's a tropical effect or something). So, things are just a bit hectic and tiring but hopefully all will be normal after a while.

On Sunday, after church, I ran all over La Candelaria looking for a birthday gift for my friend and finally found a few things I thought she might like in Ferka. Thankfully we've had rain the last couple of days but my main concern is that it rain in the parts of the country where it is most needed, with this drought the rivers are not filling up and it is bad for us because Venezuela runs mostly on hydroelectric power. Conserving energy has never been more difficult. Anyway, my friend's birthday was a ton of fun and the fabulous cake our other friend made for her birthday got many oohs and ahhs, you can check the photos out on her facebook page: Marianna's Cakes. Tuesdays Are For Tutorials

That's right! I've decided that Tuesdays are indeed for tutorials but I haven't any to add today. Well, at least not any of my own because I was out and about and did not have the chance to do even the smallest craft! Today was Little Marcus' birthday (he is my sister-in-law's nephew but he and his brothers are like family to me as well) so we all went out to Chuck-E Cheese's for the kids to have some fun and to celebrate his birthday. The three boys, Alyssa, their Uncle Cameron, Tiffany (my sister-in-law), Tina (her sister), Bonnie (their mom), the babies Gianna and Natalia, and I were all there. The kids were having a blast and only a couple of them were scared of Chuck-E (I remember being afraid of him when I was a kid).

Since I myself was not able to get a tutorial ready for you all (I promise I will post a special tutorial on the weekend, so look for a Saturday or Sunday special post) I looked a few up and here is one that I thought to be fitting since it is nearly Valentine's Day. Bloomize.com's Origami Roses are beautiful and pretty easy to make. Clara's step-by-step tutorial is very easy to read and follow. She also has a very interesting post about garlic and making paper punch-outs using its skin! It's a great and fun read!
